Context: The aims of Cirencester Civic Society are to promote, protect and help shape the town of Cirencester and we meet these aims in a variety of ways, engaging with each other as trustees, members, residents and visitors. This Code of Conduct outlines how trustees, volunteers and advisors should work together, treating each other with respect, mindful of the need to be conscious of others’ diverse interests, time and needs.
Our Code of Conduct
The Society expects everyone to:
- be reliable, honest and respect confidentiality
- uphold the standards of the Society and not to deliberately bring the organisation into disrepute
- represent Cirencester Civic Society in an appropriate manner
- refrain from engaging in verbal or physical bullying and observant of other people’s sensitivities wherever possible
- be respectful of all, regardless of their gender, race, age, religion, neuro-diversity or sexuality
- use social media responsibly
- be conscious of all communication and ensure it is not designed to cause offence
As an organisation, the Society will:
Provide an inclusive environment where debate is encouraged, opinions are respected and everyone feels valued and involved.
