Cirencester Market Place

Planning

Cirencester Civic Society draws on the expertise of our members to respond to those planning applications which may affect the character of the town. We work closely with the town and district councils to help them make decisions which are informed by our views.

Comments on individual planning applications are normally posted on the CD Planning Website. Our aim is to improve the standard of design of buildings in the town, prevent inappropriate development, remove eyesores and assist in the conservation of our numerous listed buildings and other heritage assets. This applied to the town as a whole, although our main focus is on the protection of street scenes, particularly in the conservation areas.
